OKAY, WHY DON'T YOU TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT YOUR FABULOUS SELF?

In the past, Konan was a rather cheerful young girl. Despite all of her hardships and the chores she was doing every single day, she always made it an effort and a point to put a smile on her face. Konan used to have a philosophy that one smile can make a million smiles, because happiness is usually very contagious. She was considerably thoughtful and kind, as well, and loved to help out those around her if they needed it. This was rather evident by her non-defiant attitude towards her caretaker, despite her intense dislike for her. However, after the events of her childhood traumatized her, her personality dramatically changed, unfortunately.

After Yahiko died, Konan changed. She became much more reserved, and would rather keep her feelings and emotions to herself rather than share them. A part of her kept her defenses up as she didn't allow those around her to see her true emotions. Her face was always stoic, aside from being around a select few. Nagato is the only person who will regularly see her smile, grit her teeth, or her eyes widen with worry. When around those she is not necessarily completely comfortable with, she says very little, if anything at all. Outside of the Akatsuki, she will only speak when words need to be spoken. Inside the Akatsuki, she follows the same principle, however is a bit more laid back amongst her other teammates. She has a growing desire to try to build more solid relationships, however it's proving to be quite difficult for her.

She is an incredibly loyal and faithful person to her organization, and would never turn her back on Nagato or her teammates. For her, Nagato is the reason why she is still alive, and therefore she is constantly reminded by herself that she needs to pay him back in some way, by giving him her faith, loyalty, and obedience. She feels that he deserves far more than what she is able to provide for him, but Konan knows that having one friend for Nagato is enough for him to continue without going absolutely mad. Konan is also the kind of person who will put her teammates ahead of herself, including any member of the Akatsuki. While she does not necessarily feel that her life is not as important as others', she does feel like she has a debt that needs to be paid from years ago by Yahiko's fiercely brave actions. It was admirable, and Konan had never wanted that action to go in vain.

A large part of Konan's personality comes from her fear of getting close to anyone, and then the same event happening all over. She also does not want to ever appear weak where she can be kidnapped and used as ransom against Nagato, or other Akatsuki members. Although it has not been a problem since, due to the Akatsuki's ever rising prominence in the world, the chances of such an occurrence is becoming more likely. She also does not ever want to feel the heartbreak of what happened to her friend, Yahiko, causing her to keep herself distant from growing relationships with other people. While she may consider the other Akatsuki members to be her friends, she does not see them as people to confide in or anything farther than a friendly work relationship.

Konan's parents died during the Second Great Shinobi War. From what she can remember of them, they were very caring people and appeared to love Konan greatly. After their death, Konan was left to fend for herself with a broken heart to try to mend.

The most important and closest person to Konan is Nagato. She is the only member of the Akatsuki who refers him to his real name. Konan and Nagato have known each other since they were children, therefore allowing the two to grow together. Due to the large amount of time spent with each other, Konan has developed a large protectiveness over Nagato, and often worries about him while he is performing any form of jutsu. She will condone him when she feels it is appropriate, however she does have a lot of respect for him. Konan will obediently follow his orders with no hesitation, as her trust for Nagato is also noticeable.

Master Jiraiya was once an inspiration for Konan, before everything had changed. She still feels a certain amount of closeness with her previous instructor, and these emotions and bonds can sometimes block her true intentions and goals. She was once very fond of him and admired him incredibly. Now, she still does, to an extent, but would much rather prove how much she has grown since their last encounter. There are very few others whom Konan would consider close to her. She does not speak often in large groups with the entire Akatsuki, however if caught by herself, she will speak on individual levels with the other members. Konan puts her teammates above herself, and therefore has shown great care for her other Akatsuki members.

Konan was born shortly before the Second Great Shinobi War. She was born to her two loving parents, who were both experienced ninja for Amegakure. However, when the war began, her parents were unfortunately stationed right in the middle of the fight. She had heard news that her parents were killed, though in a noble manner, and was forever left without a family. Konan was a young child when she entered an orphanage in Amegakure. The orphanage was poor and rundown. Konan was ordered to do various chores around the large house, in addition to serving the older kids. Her caretaker was a grumpy old woman who wanted nothing to do with children, as opposed to making as much money as possible. When she turned nine years old, she turned away from the orphanage and left, ready to face the world on her own.

One of her most distinctive memories about her parents and her young childhood were the lessons on origami. When Konan was just three years old, she began to play with paper in a mysterious way, by trying to make various animals and shapes out of it. Her mother than began teaching her the art of origami. The young blue hair child had a surprising natural talent for the art form, and quickly grasped the techniques for it. This was an activity that Konan would carry with her through the orphanage, which often times became her only escape from reality to go into a world of peace. It was the one way to keep her in tune with her once happy childhood before everything started to fall downward.

When Konan left the orphanage, she wandered aimlessly throughout the River Country before running into her first new best friend, Yahiko. It was evident to the young boy that she was lost, and she was hungry. Her stomach was constantly growling in frustration, her hair was a tangled mess, and the only thing "clean" about her was the blue flower pinned to her hair. When Konan met Yahiko, he took her under his wing and told her, "Don't worry! Follow me, and you'll be safe, I promise!" And so she did. Yahiko and Konan spent their time together in order to try to survive. He would steal food for the two of them, and she would find supplies. Not longer after their encounter, however, Konan was off in the woods to find a good branch when she found a young boy, about their age, lying on the ground. At first, she approached cautiously, in fear of the boy rising to attack. However, upon closer inspection, she came to the conclusion that he was dying. A dog was barking at her, but she ignored it as she picked the boy up onto her back and began to carry him to where Yahiko had asked Konan to meet him.

During the walk back, the boy had woken up. He walked on his own feet, but allowed Konan to assist him. The dog obediently followed. When Konan first introduced the new boy, who was named Nagato, to Yahiko, he was initially upset by her decision to add to the group. However, shortly after (and with help from Chibi, the dog), the three became close and were more than willing to stay with each other. Yahiko and Nagato became the only family Konan could recognize as such. They were her closest friends. Everything seemed to have been going well. Until that day.

A heavy storm hit Amegakure, and the three orphans were left outside with no home. Yahiko's hideout had caught on fire after a lightning strike, leaving them out in the middle of nowhere with no where to go. As the three orphans were left stranded, a group of three older ninja came across them. At first, the orphans were hesitant to allow them to come near, but when one of the male ninja offered to feed them, they willingly gave way. They soon learned that they were known as the "Legendary Sannin", and their names were Jiraiya, Orochimaru, and Tsunade. While their titles didn't mean anything to them, that gave them the inspiration to come up with a title for themselves. Yahiko began to call themselves the "Ame Orphans". It may not have been as catchy or threatening, but it was a title to give to their group. As they finished their new meal, as a way of thanks, Konan turned the leftover wrappers into a flower to give to the three ninja, specifically handing it over to Jiraiya.

Something must have touched him about them, for he then began to train the three in the way of ninjutsu. Training was hard, but it was enjoyable. After the three left, unfortunately so, the three began to train amongst themselves and learned their own way of ninjutsu. Konan, specifically, started to infuse her chakra with her origami techniques, to develop and incredibly unique style of jutsu. After their visit, and after the orphans started to get stronger, Yahiko started to get ideas. He began to say things in relation to how it was unfair that their parents had to die. None of them wanted another war to ensue, and none of them wanted this fate upon a child like they were fated. Yahiko had a new dream: to become a God to stop war and to bring peace. The Akatsuki was then formed.

Time had passed, where the Akatsuki began to build a reputation, which became recognized all over the world. It became such a feared organization, that people began to feel that something had to be done to bring them down. Hanzo, the leader of Amegakure at the time, feared that the Akatsuki would become so powerful that they would be able to take over the village. So Hanzo, alongside with Danzo, deceived the group into a meeting with them about an allegiance for peace amongst the two. However, when they arrived, Konan was kidnapped by the men. The two boys were told that if Nagato did not kill Yahiko, who was the leader of the Akatsuki, that Konan would be killed. At the time, Konan had pleaded that the two leave her and survive. Survival was their main goal, after all. However, instead, Yahiko grabbed the kunai from Nagato's reluctant hands and stabbed himself in the chest. After the shocking ordeal, Nagato finally had the strength to rescue Konan. Out of revenge, Nagato slaughtered Hanzo's forces as well as the ANBU ROOT ninja who had come to help support Hanzo. Hanzo had fled, leaving Nagato and Konan. After a civil war with Amegakure, Nagato became the leader of Amegakure, and eventually, the Akatsuki.

Since that event, Konan and Nagato have been inseparable. Not necessarily on purpose, but Nagato takes Konan with him everywhere, and is usually not comfortable when she is not in his presence. Just like it is for Nagato, Nagato is Konan's last aspect of her life that has been static since she was young. Nagato has been there through the hard times and understands what it was like. To this day, Konan still does not like to think about her past, but knows that at least one other person can understand what it was like. Nagato is the only person that could ever fill that void for her, and is the only person that makes her feel safe.

A technique that consists of pouring one's chakra into a scrap of paper in a split second, hardening and sharpening it, so it can be used as a shuriken. Its sharpness is equal to that of a shuriken made of metal. The user can further increase the power of the shuriken by making it into certain shapes.

Konan can fold the paper shuriken into different shapes, including the normal four-pointed star shape and a more kunai-like shape.

KAMI BUNSHIN (PAPER CLONE) (10)

This jutsu takes advantage of Konan's ability to create and manipulate paper. By infusing her chakra into paper, she can shape the paper into a perfect replica of herself that she can control remotely. When the clone is hit or disperses, it merely collapses back into sheets of paper. In the anime, it was shown that Konan could conceal exploding tags in the paper clones as well.

This is a jutsu developed where Konan will create, using several hundred pieces of paper, a large bird. Infusing her chakra inside the paper, she can then climb onto the bird and use it as a way of travel. The bird has no other purpose aside from travel and cannot be used for battle or defensive purposes. She controls its direction through the connection between the bird and her chakra.

Using her high origami and ninjutsu skills, Konan will turn her body and clothing into many sheets of paper. She can control and reshape every sheet at will, making such forms as weapons for attack, butterflies for spying, paper airplanes for quick transport, or simply covering her enemy in sheets of paper, restricting and asphyxiating them. She can also hide exploding tags amongst her papers to add a deadly surprise to her opponent. Her ability to make wings of paper mirror her title as 'God's Angel' in Amegakure. She is capable of hovering while in paper form, and does not require her wings to do so.

In this form, she is weak to oil-based techniques, which causes the paper to stick, but she is not weak against water to the same extent. In fact, she can use water to her advantage.

ASSAKUKI KAMIHANA AME (PRESSED PAPER FLOWER RAIN) (60)
Ninjutsu, Offensive, All Ranges, A-Rank

This is a relatively new jutsu that Konan has developed. She uses the flower that she pins to her hair in this jutsu. The blue flower, which has been hand made by Konan when she was a child, has been infused with her chakra since the time she made it. The flower hosts an immense amount of her chakra over the decades since its birth. When this jutsu is activated, Konan will take the flower out of her hair, hold it in the palms of both of her hands in front of her, and then transfer her chakra (60 points), into the flower to activate the jutsu. Once activated, the flower's petals will begin to separate from each other, until each petal has been separated and is in a single piece. The petals will all literally rise into the air in a swirling motion (as if a wind is passing through), and then each petal will begin to peel apart into needle thin pieces. In the end, hundreds, if not thousands, of needle thin pieces will have been created and is floating in mid air. The needles will then transform into extremely sharp blades (although maintain the same appearance), and then strike the opponent. The needles will spread themselves over a great distance (as wide as up to ten by ten feet), often times leaving the victim unable to escape quickly enough. This jutsu can kill if done properly, and if the opponent has previously already been trapped by another jutsu. However, this jutsu will more often times just leave the opponent with quite a few slices on their skin. It depends on whether the opponent can dodge.

TENSHIKAMI TSUBASA (PAPER ANGEL WINGS) (80)

This is one of Konan's most powerful, and her signature, jutsu. Similar to the cursed seal by Orochimaru, when Konan activates these paper wings, her entire body becomes more "in tune" with her paper. While her wings are activated, her chakra connection with the origami paper becomes increased. The benefit to activating the wings is that it makes her other abilities up to three times more powerful than they were original, due to the new and more powerful chakra combination with the paper. She is able to stay within this jutsu for long periods of time, however, depending on how much jutsu she uses while having her wings activated will greatly effect how long she can withstand this jutsu. It takes up quite a bit of chakra. When the wings become deactivated, it leaves Konan extremely fatigued and low on chakra.

PAPER ANGEL TECHNIQUE (50)

Konan's ultimate paper technique, which uses a massive amount of paper sheets to open a huge abyss under her opponent's feet. The enemy will then fall into the abyss. To make the attack even more deadly, she fills it with six hundred billion explosive tags which explode for a full ten minutes.

WEAPONS & EQUIPMENT[/color] konan is normally never seen outside of her akatsuki uniform with a blue flower pinned to her hair. as a member of the akatsuki, she boasts the akatsuki ring on her left middle finger which has the kanji symbol for "white". she does not carry any additional weapons with her, as she uses her origami techniques for shuriken and kunai replacements.
